Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA)

Facing the Health Care Challenges of the Asian Pacific Islander Community

The Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA) is the nation's only organization specifically representing East and South Asian American medical students. Our mission is to bring together those who are interested in health issues that affect the Asian-American community so that we may have a strong, collective, public, and political voice. Stanford's APAMSA chapter organizes annual conferences, performs free health screenings at local community events and brings speakers to campus about Asian health. We also host social events for our members with other campus organizations and neighboring schools.

APAMSA seeks to:

  1. address the educational and social issues pertaining to APAs in medicine,
  2. promote cultural awareness and sensitivity within Stanford’s medical community,
  3. provide resources and education as advocates for improving APA health in communities at large, and
  4. foster participation in community service and outreach programs.
